Science Center Welcomes You
The Headwaters Science Center at 413 Beltrami Avenue is Bemidji gives visitors a chance to see science at work in a hands-on environment. Attractions include a live animal collection and a gift shop with science related items. Demonstrations and experiments are held for the young and the young at heart. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 930am to 530pm and Sunday from 1-5pm. Memberships cost $35 for an individual and $60 for a family. The exhibit entry fees are $3 for children 12 and younger and $5 for adults and children older than 12 with a maximum of $25 per household. Beltrami History Center
The Beltrami County Historical Society, located in the former Great Northern Depot Building, offers visitors a chance to step back in time with a historical collection that now numbers more than 105-thousand pieces including American Indian and settlement artifacts, textiles, old maps, photographs, newspapers, and manuscripts. In addition to the exhibits, the center's staff offers research services and photo reprints. The center also has a gift shop. The center is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students and senior citizens, and $1 for children 12 and younger. The Historical society is also involved in a number of fundraising events throughout the year and is always looking for new members and new perspectives.
